The number one source of blight in the City of Oakland, billboards are everywhere except the hills.The Oakland City Council is on record as wanting to eliminate all billboards in Oakland, but city agencies pay Viacom and Clear Channel to maintain their game. Sure government speech gets lots of freebies and discounts. And remember those billboards promoting "The Children" or "the Arts" represent money that went to the billboard industry instead of the children or the arts.
